Global Human Rights Week (14^th – 19^st October 2019)

Organised within the framework of the Raising Peace Campaign

What is Raising Peace?

Raising Peace is a networking initiative that aims to contribute to the construction of peace, the guarantee of human rights all over the world, and to highlight the role that International Voluntary Service (IVS) plays in this field. The programme achieves this through advocating for human rights, non-formal education training and capacity building, empowerment of activists and organisations and through communication and visibility campaigns
Raising Peace unites 8 International and regional networks from the IVS Movement (WAVAN, SAWC, SEEYN, SCI, NVDA, IBO, EAVS, Alliance) which coordinated by the CCIVS work together in order to implement the yearly campaign.

The GHRW

Taking place from the 14-19 October 2019 the GHRW will promote the results of the RP campaign and highlight the work of the IVS movement for peace and human rights.
The GHRW 2019 will focus on the following topics, each coordinated by a network part of the IVS movement:
• Human Rights for All (CCIVS),
• Refugees & Migrants, Freedom of Movement (SCI),
• Right to live in Peace (SEEYN),
• Gender Rights (Alliance),
• Right to Food & Housing (SAWC, EAVS and WAVAN),
• Right to Participation (NVDA).
All contents generated by the networks will include material related to Raising Peace camps, video testimonials from workcamps participants and contributions from experts.
All contents will be posted in the CCIVS webpage in the GHRW section www.ccivs.org/raisingpeace, which will include statements, testimonial and the RP camp cards. The contents will be disseminated through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

If you would like to sign an action up to the GHRW you can fill in the following form (just replying to the actions for the GHRW), you can apply to implement a one day action such as flash mob, street actions, workcamps, Peace Action Weeks, youth exchanges etc which will take place during this week.
Please also consider asking you workcamp volunteers to make a short video on one of the Human Rights topics to be shared during the GHRW!
