I want to Volunteer!

We ask the volunteers to make sure that their travel is compatible with the most recent recommendations of health authorities with regards to the spread of the Coronavirus. In case you are travelling from or recently travelled through a higher risk area, please check the health recommendations of the country where the project takes place, as restrictions may apply (e.g. ban, quarantine, isolation). Our members will take the necessary health precautions for their projects, but please contact your sending organisation to get more information in case you have any concerns

“Voluntary service is an exchange between an individual, or a group of individuals and a local community. The volunteer or group of volunteers offers time, energy and effort to a project of benefit to a community, and through this project the community offers to the volunteer or group of volunteers an opportunity for experimentation, learning and personal and collective development.”
(Cotravaux, France)

CCIVS is an international network in charge of the coordination of international voluntary service (IVS) worldwide, and does not recruit volunteers. If you want to participate in international voluntary service, you need to contact an organisation in your country of residence or in a neighboring country. Full details of the participation procedure must be dealt directly with the organisation.

International Voluntary Service works for friendship and understanding and combines grass-roots actions and non-formal education. Through participating in an IVS project one can work side by side with people from all over the world and directly in local communities. These communities are at the forefront of the decision making process. IVS participation is open to all regardless of who you are and where you come from, it provides the opportunity for people of all ages to come together to work on a common goal.

Projects can include promoting peace and human rights, active participation and social inclusion, environmental work and sustainability, cultural heritage and diversity and poverty eradication and health promotion.
By participating in an IVS project anyone can take their part in the history of international voluntary service, dating from the end of WW1, where people have worked together to fight for a more just and peaceful world.
This is a world where you can find amazing people working together for change.
