Christinia Eala

Christinia Eala is the Founder and Co-Director of Tiyospaye Winyan Maka (translates to Extended Family of Women of the Earth). A non-profit that, for the last 15 years has dedicated itself to its mission to “advocate, promote and support alternative housing and energy, nutritional and educational sovereignty”. It is one of the first Indigenous agencies to be designated a Community Partner with the Engineers Without Borders domestic arm, the Community Engineering Corps. In this capacity, Tiyospaye Winyan Maka fully endorses and sponsors the construction of the Indigenous Wisdom Center, a multi-purpose Demonstration and Training Centre at the Oglala Lakota Cultural and Environmental Revitalization Initiative on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
As a Former Psychiatric technician, she developed programs for Native Americans Living with HIV/AIDS and Women entering alcohol treatment, both programs based on traditional Lakota Spiritual traditions.
Christinia has also sat on the board of Directors of UNA-NOCO as Chair of the Indigenous Concerns Committee and she is certified in true traditional Restorative Justice
