Presentation CCIVS
Founded in 1948 The Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) is a non-governmental, non-profit making international organisation (INGO) working for the development of voluntary service worldwide.
CCIVS connects and empowers 188 organisations, promoting and advocating for International Voluntary Service and its values locally and globally it acts as a link to establish relations between the members and international institutions such as the EU, different UN agencies or foundations. The CCIVS network creates campaigns and actions based on the idea that working together voluntarily on a concrete and meaningful task is the most effective way of creating international friendship and understanding, paving the way for social transformation and long-lasting peace.
- Networking and International Representation: CCIVS organises inter-regional projects of IVS organisations, global meetings and participates in institutional forums and high-level meetings (UN, INGOS, public and private stakeholders) to defend the priorities of the International Voluntary Service Movement
- Training and Capacity building: Trainings for volunteers, leaders, trainers and staff of IVS organisations to develop the organisational capacities of members
- Communication and campaigns: CCIVS puts IVS organisations and other institutions into contact and provides information, materials and tools. Promotion of campaigns to raise visibility and strengthen the work of IVS organisations
Location of the Position
The CCIVS Network Coordination Officer (NCO) will be based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Due to the nature of our funding, this position is only open to those eligible to work in the European Union.
Key Objective:
To coordinate the work assigned to the CCIVS Secretariat in accordance with the decision of the CCIVS GA 2021 and the CCIVS 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, the CCIVS Plan of Action and budget as well as ensuring the values of the network are maintained.

Stakeholder Management/Network Coordination | – further develop and maintain CCIVS membership – strengthen regional and global participation of members in the CCIVS network, – maintain and consolidate relations with external stakeholders, partners and institutions and actively engage in expanding network relations – identify new possible stakeholders/ partners |
Advocacy and Development of the Living Earth Campaign | – coordinate the development of the advocacy plan and its implementation – support in the development of the CCIVS global ‘Living Earth’ campaign – identify events that CCIVS can participate in for external representation and advocacy (members, Executive Committee or any other relevant CCIVS supporters) |
Resource Mobilisation | – actively look for and follow up with funding sources to ensure the functioning of the organisation; – identify instances in which CCIVS can offer its services such as speaker roles, facilitators and trainers for events and follow up on these possibilities |
Operations and Financial Management | – maintenance of the CCIVS databases – ensure the organisation of the biannual CCIVS GC and GA together with the CCIVS EC – follow up on the membership status of the members – work with the Administrative and Financial Officer to prepare a provisional budget for CCIVS and ensure the financial reporting for the Executive Committee meetings and a end of year report – oversee legal obligations for the organisation such as the bank account and employment related services and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (GDPR etc) in Estonia – liaise with the CCIVS Competence Centre |

Candidate Profile
Selection criteria
We are looking for a dynamic individual who supports the aims and values of CCIVS and who believes in international voluntary service as a tool to promote a culture of peace and social
transformation, feels at ease in intercultural groups and has at least 3 years experience in developing a trans-national or international organisation/NGO.

Knowledge and Experience
- Past experience in coordinating non-profit organisations and/or equivalent project management
- Cross cultural awareness and experience in working in a team with people from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in financial management, including budgeting and fundraising
- Organisational Development
- NGO development skills
- Experience in the field of International Voluntary Service and understanding of the networks vision and mission
Skills and Attributes
- A high level of professionalism and excellent communication skills
- Excellent intercultural communication skills and is able to work with volunteer driven organisations as well as with more formal institutions
- Strong affinity with volunteering but are also able to network with other organisations and partners around diverse issues that are important for the network
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Eager to learn and not afraid of setting up new initiatives
- The capacity to develop strong working relationships with members of the Executive Committee, the CCIVS network members and any other institutional partner
- Work independently in a horizontal team structure as well as in an internationally, diverse and remote team
- Stress resilient and ready to work long and flexible hours, when necessary
- Has an excellent working knowledge of English and has a working knowledge of Estonian (as the hosting country of the new office)
We offer the right candidate:
- A four month probation period, with the possibility of leading onto a full time long term contract
- The working hours are 40 hours per week according to local legislation. Working hours are flexible
- Annual leave consists of 2.33 days per month according to the legislation
- The salary is 1.500 Euro gross/ month, this may be increased to 1600 Euros gross/month after the probation period
